What's a Pen Name?
A pen name is any name other than your legal name. (For example: Zane, Dark Matters, Stormy
Reigns.)
How much are royalties?
Royalties will be discussed when a contract is offered.
How much does Victory by Design Press receive from my book sales?
Our commission depends on production costs which will be determined by size of your book,
hardback or paperback, full color or black and white, etc. Typically, we will received about
$1.50 a book but it varies depending on the specifics of the book format.
Will I receive royalties on books I purchase myself?
No. You will be able to purchase books directly from the publisher at a discounted rate. Since
you're buying the book at a discounted rate, you can sell the book for whatever price you
choose. You in turn will get to set your own royalties on the books you sell directly.
Will my books be sold at bookstores?
Whether or not your books are sold at bookstores depends on how much work and effort you
put into your work. We, as your publisher, will do everything we can for each and every author.
Your books will be listed on online bookstore websites (BarnesandNoble.com, Amazon.com,
Borders.com, Target.com, etc.).
How long is the publishing process?
The publishing process takes anywhere between eight and twelve weeks. However, it could
take longer for you to see your book listed on bookstore websites.
How long will it take to see my book on bookstore websites?
The bookstores only update their websites every four to six weeks so you won't see your book
listed until the next update to their site.
Will my book be sold on Victory by Design Press Website?
Yes. Every author that we choose to publish will be listed on the company website. You will
also have a profile with you photo listed as well.
